Jaroslav Seifert wrote his sentimental Věnec sonetů (A Wreath of Sonnets) in this form about Prague, with an authorized translation by Jan Křesadlo, who also composed his own emigre riposte in the same format, as well as writing several other sonnet cycles.
Graves's father, Alfred Perceval Graves, incensed at some aspects of the book, wrote a riposte to it entitled To Return to All That.
Other works are L'hommage à la Vierge, and the Lay de guerre, a lai written after the Battle of Agincourt, a riposte to the Lay de paix of his contemporary Alain Chartier.
