As their scientific name suggests, they physically resemble the sandfish (genus Trichonotus).
Uromastyx alfredschmidti acts similar to the rest of Uromastyx however it prefers to to hunt other desert reptiles like The sandfish (Scincus scincus), Toad Headed Agama (Phrynocephalus maculatus) and rarely its own kind.
