Kalyan Kumar Mukherjea (1943–2010) was an authority on Indian classical music, particularly the Senia Shahjahanpur Gharana (school) of Sarod.
In addition to solo performances and recordings, Chatterjee worked with sitar players Nikhil Banerjee, Imrat Khan, Budhaditya Mukherjee, and Rais Khan,Pt.Ravisankar,Ustad Sahid Parvej Pt.Manilal Nag, sarod players Buddhadev Das Gupta and Ali Akbar Khan,Ustad Amjad Ali Khan,Tejendra Narayan Majumder, flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia; santoor player Pandit Shivkumar Sharma; and vocalists Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur and Gangubai Hangal.
He recorded the album "The Sarod Master" (1991) for Hot Club Records, produced by guitar player Jon Larsen.
She, along with her husband Mobarak Hossain Khan, is currently involved in planning, and research of a popular TV musical program on NTV (Bangladesh), Bajo ebong Bajao, which features sangat (co-performance) of Raag based Nazrul Sangeet with Sitar, Sarod, and other classical instruments.
Imrat has five sons, Nishat, Irshad, Wajahat and Shafaatullah,and Azmat Khan, now only eight; the first four sons are all classical musicians: Nishat plays the sitar, Wajahat concentrates on the sarod and Shafaatullah is accomplished on sitar, tabla, and surbahar.
Prominent musicians belonging to the Maihar gharana include sitarists late Ravi Shankar and late Nikhil Banerjee, Allauddin Khan's son sarod player late Ali Akbar Khan, daughter Annapurna Devi and grandsons Aashish Khan and late Dhyanesh Khan.
Later he went to Kolkata to continue his higher Talim (Intensive Training) from his cousin Ustad Bahadur Khan, a great Sarod Player in the sub-continent.

In an interview, Indian sarod player Aashish Khan, (who was also a performer in this event) told that Tejendra Narayan Majumdar worked very hard to organise this musical festival and found it unfortunate that no one came forward to help Tejendra Narayan.
