Since the early millennium, Metalcore became popular in Malaysia as well with renowned underground bands such as Forsaken, Amarah, Dewata, Furion Escalada, Dominator (early), Tyrant (screamo), Dead Eyes Glow, Mad Monsters Attack, Restraint and Love Me Butch (post-hardcore) supporting the local scene.

They are often held responsible for bringing the screamo genre to Europe, after the genre hit its high point in the US in the late 90's with the existence of bands like Orchid and Saetia.

Saetia

Other members of the band continued their musical careers in numerous outfits, some of them joining screamo bands such as Off Minor, Hot Cross, Iselia, and The Fiction, as well as the bands Errortype: Eleven and Instruction.

(This is similar to fellow screamo band Joshua Fit For Battle, whose name was a corruption of the traditional American spiritual song "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho"; other members of Saetia later formed Off Minor, which is the title of a Thelonious Monk composition.)
