Astrobrite is a shoegazing supergroup, at times incorporating members of STAR (Scott Cortez), lovesliescrushing (Scott Cortez, Melissa Arpin-Duimstra), Mahogany (Andrew Prinz), Majesty Crush (Odell Nails), Dark Red, Paik (Rob Smith), Xebec (Doug Walker), Coaltar of the Deepers (Narasaki), (Jason Baron), Airiel, New Canyons (Andrew Marrah), Gel Set (Laura Callier), and other members as well.
Seattle shoegaze act The Sight Below filmed the 2008 video for their track Further Away at Deception Pass, with Deception Island's scenic imagery prominently featured.
Schroeder started taking formal lessons on guitar playing from David Koval (Dakoda Motor Co. and Breakfast with Amy) when he was twelve, and when he was eighteen he joined the band The Violet Burning, only to become a guitarist and one of the founding members of a shoegazing band The Lassie Foundation from Southern California a few years later, who described their style as "pink noise pop".
The Depreciation Guild, who disbanded in 2011, were an indie band that incorporated 8-bit sounds, video game music, and elements of shoegaze.

The Jennifers began building a reputation in the Oxford indie music scene, influenced by Ride, The Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets, The Kinks, the Who, and including traits of the Shoegazing era.
Bands lumped into the 'scene' by the press included several of the bands that were branded with the shoegazing label, such as Chapterhouse, Lush, Moose and other (mainly indie) bands such as Blur (prior to the release of their single "Popscene"), Thousand Yard Stare, See See Rider and Stereolab.
