Born January 20, 1971, Gilles Roux is a French speedcuber primarily known for inventing a 3x3 method, the Roux Method, and achieving fast solves with it.
In the speedcubing community she is considered one of the pioneers of speedcubing, along with Lars Petrus.
He is best known for setting several world records for speedcubing, or quickly solving the Rubik's Cube.
This plays a role in major speedcubing methods such as Fridrich for the 3×3×3 Rubik's Cube and EG for the 2×2×2 Pocket cube.
He is also a co-founder and board member of the WCA (World Cube Association), an organization aiming at the spread of speedcubing as a regulated sport.
