The name "Barnhouse Effect" originates from the short story Report on the Barnhouse Effect by Kurt Vonnegut in which a professor, Arthur Barnhouse, develops telekinetic techniques.
Meanwhile, the club's owner (Jackie Beat) has to close it down due to taxes, and invites her odd niece (Paris Wagner), who possesses the power of telekinesis, to help her pack up her office.
