2 unusual facts about the Auteurs


The Auteurs

The Polish band Lenny Valentino took its name from The Auteurs' song on their album Now I'm a Cowboy and the Minneapolis based band, Valet, took its name from the song "Valet Parking" from New Wave.

Haines also worked as one third of the art-pop band Black Box Recorder, and in 2001 released the soundtrack album to the film, Christie Malry's Own Double-Entry, rapidly followed by his first solo album proper, The Oliver Twist Manifesto.


Johnny and the Hurricanes

The band inspired the song "Johnny and the Hurricanes" on the album How I Learned to Love the Bootboys, by the band the Auteurs.

They have performed around London with such act as Detritus, James Banbury of The Auteurs, and various members of Lou Reeds band as well as members of The Fall.
