Alain Boublil

On 8 October 1985, an English-language production of Les Misérables produced by Cameron Mackintosh and directed by Trevor Nunn premiered in London at The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Barbican Theatre.

Algoma Fall Festival

The festival has hosted various local, Canadian, and internationally renowned performers, such as: Wynton Marsalis, Canadian Brass, Emily Carr, Adrienne Clarkson, Dizzy Gillespie, Marcel Marceau, Stephan Grappelli, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Sharon Lois and Bram, and others.

Doug Rao

He played DS Stuart Turner in The Bill, and has starred in theatre with The Royal Shakespeare Company, in three world premieres including David Edgar's The Prisoner's Dilemma and Peter Whelan's A Russian in the Woods.

Morley College

The Theatre School enjoyed success during the 1980s and early 1990s under the direction of Paul A Thompson (who was resident dramatist with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1977 and with the National Theatre 1977 to 1979) and Brian Croucher (who played a number of roles in TV shows including EastEnders, Blake's 7, Doctor Who, The Bill, Casualty, Doctors and Edge of Darkness).

Movement director

Michel Saint-Denis taught movement in London and was an influential associate director alongside Peter Brook at the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1962–1966, introducing influences from his work in Paris with his uncle Jacques Copeau.
