Produced by Chip Douglas of the Turtles, the album saw Ronstadt take a decisive turn away from the folk rock of The Stone Poneys toward country and rock.
The 1966 album included the original recorded version of Mike Nesmith's "Different Drum", which was made into a hit song the following year by the Stone Poneys.
In 2007, Sweet contributed the song "Come to California" for the film, Nancy Drew, and a cover of the Stone Poneys' "Different Drum" for the film, The Heartbreak Kid.
