A rose garden featuring over 3,000 varietals was maintained alongside the nursery, and after 1930, numerous memorial and naturalist sculptures were installed, including monuments to José de San Martín, Domingo Sarmiento and Frédéric Chopin, as well as naturalist works evoking the ceremonial Inca maidens (the Ñusta), a jaguar, and others.
Started in 1999 by Chateau Ste. Michelle veteran winemaker Mike Januik, Novelty Hill produces a number of varietals using grapes grown in eastern Washington.
Today the garden contains extensive plantings of exotic trees, including mature sequoias, cedars, palm trees, eucalyptus, bananas, lemons, oleanders, hibiscus, and magnolias, as well as fine specimens of Prunus, Quercus, Rosa, Sorbus and Viburnum species and varietals.
Traditionally, the varietals grown in this area are Sémillon and Malbec; together with Bonarda and Barbera in a smaller amount.
