1985–86 Manchester United F.C. season

The 1985–86 season was Manchester United's 83rd season in the Football League, and their 11th consecutive season in the top division of English football.

United's title challenge was also not helped by the fact that captain Bryan Robson was only available for half of the club's league games this season due to injuries.


1897–98 Thames Ironworks F.C. season

On 11 September 1897, in their first game of the new season of the London League and also at their new ground, Thames beat Brentford F.C. 1–0.
