An Abrolhos squall (or Abroholos squall or simply abroholos) typically occurs from May through August (austral winter) near the Abrolhos Islands off the coast of eastern Brazil near 18°S latitude, located between Cabo de São Tomé and Cabo Frio.
Berthelinia darwini, a snail species in the genus Berthelinia found in the Houtman Abrolhos
Numerous records in the coastal regions of the west and south, it has also been found in the Abrolhos at East Wallabi Island.
This included the Zeewijk, wrecked in the Pelsaert Group of the Houtman Abrolhos in 1727, which he dived on earlier in 1963, and the Zuytdorp which came to grief when it struck the Zuytdorp Cliffs, 560 kilometres north of Perth, in 1712.
