Adamson's grunter (Hephaestus adamsoni) is a species of fish in the Terapontidae family endemic to Lake Kutubu in the Kikori River system, Papua New Guinea.

Agar Adamson, born on Christmas Day 1865, was the grandson of William Agar Adamson an influential Toronto clergyman.
