1987 Constitution of Ethiopia

The Institute was staffed mostly by academics from Addis Ababa University, who continued to serve as advisers to the Constitutional Commission.

Addis Ababa University

Addis Ababa University was founded in 1950 at the request of Haile Selassie by a Canadian Jesuit, Dr Lucien Matte, S.J. as a two-year college, and began operations the next year.

Alemu Aga

He went on to study geography at Addis Ababa University, and after graduation went to work as a geography and begena professor at the Yared Music School, where for seven years he also taught begena.

Berhanu Nega

An Amhara, Almayahu was a graduate of the Dina Police College in Addis Ababa and of Haile Selassie University (now Addis Ababa University); his education leads the Ottaways to suspect that this was a factor in his feud with Mengistu Haile Mariam.
