Adelaide Park Lands

Influenced by William Penn's design of Philadelphia, Light set out the city of Adelaide on a grid of one square mile, interspaced by wide boulevards and incorporating five large public squares.

This area has largely been filled with cultural institutions along North Terrace, but further and additional areas have been alienated for railways, cemeteries, sporting facilities and other constructions.

* North Terrace forms the southern boundary of these establishments.

Australian International Three Day Event

The event is unique in being held in a city-centre, taking place in the picturesque Adelaide Park Lands.


University of Adelaide

The university has five campuses throughout the state: North Terrace; Roseworthy College at Roseworthy; The Waite Institute at Urrbrae; Thebarton; and the National Wine Centre in the Adelaide Park Lands.

Waymouth Street, Adelaide

Across from the intersection with West Terrace is a service road for Adelaide High School and an entrance point to shared pedestrian and bicycle tracks in the western parklands.
