Airlink

On 7 December 2009, an Airlink Embraer ERJ 135 (registration:ZS-SJW) on scheduled flight SA 8625, overshot the runway when trying to land in wet weather at George Airport; no fatalities were reported.

The flight from Cape Town to George Airport was cleared for an instrument landing (ILS) approach and prevailing weather conditions at the time were overcast, with light rain.

Airlink has its head office in the 11th office block of the Greenstone Office Park in the Modderfontein suburb of Johannesburg.


Airlink Flight 8911

Airlink Flight 8911 was a positioning flight from Durban International Airport to Pietermaritzburg Airport that crashed into the grounds of Merebank Secondary School shortly after takeoff at around 8:00 a.m. local time (06:00 UTC) on September 24, 2009, injuring the three occupants of the aircraft and one on the ground.

Dubuque Regional Airport

Northwest Airlines announced on February 7, 2008 that its regional partner Mesaba Airlines operating as Northwest Airlink will once again return with service to Dubuque with twice daily flights to and from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport using Saab 340 aircraft.
