Abu al-Hakim Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik al-Salihi al-Khwarizmi al-Khati, Al-Khati (flourished 1034), was a Muslim alchemist from the village of Kath in the Khwarezm region.
Special attention is paid to the main thinkers of the period of splendor of Islamic civilization (8th to 12th centuries), like Avicenna, Averroes, Omar Khayyam and Al-Khwarizmi.
The Khwarizmi Science Society was founded in 1997 by a group of students at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, under the guidance of Prof. Saadat Anwar Siddiqi.
Algorithm is a modified spelling of Khwārizmī and algebra derives from his famous work "al-jabr wa-l-muqābala".
