In 1927 Cobham starred as himself in the 1927 British war film The Flight Commander directed by Maurice Elvey.
There are also intriguing historical connections such as America Lane, the fever hospital and Clifton 'airport' used by Sir Alan Cobham's Air Circus between the two world wars.

On 22 September 1934 a Handley Page W.10 a twin-engined biplane airline named Youth of New Zealand of Sir Alan Cobham's National Aviation Displays, crashed into a field near the canal at Aston Clinton.
