Sir Alexander Abercromby, 1st Baronet (c. 1603–1684), Scottish politician, Commissioner for Banffshire 1640–1641, 1643, 1646–1648 and 1661–1663
Abercromby was born in Clackmannanshire on 15 October 1745, the fourth and youngest son of George Abercromby of Tullibody (1705-1800) and Mary Dundas.
Among his intimate friends were Henry Mackenzie, Robert Cullen, William Craig, Hugh Blair, Erskine and Alexander Abercromby.
