By Pennsylvania School Board regulations, for the graduating classes of 2016, students must demonstrate successful completion of secondary level course work in Algebra I, Biology, English Composition, and Literature for which the Keystone Exams serve as the final course exams.
The school offers various standard courses in the areas of English (aka. Writing, or Literature), Math (such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Calculus, Trigonometry, et cetera), Science, (such as Biology or Chemistry), Social or Global Studies (with areas such as World History, US History, and Humanities), Physical Education and Health, as well as electives such as "Band", "Art", or "Choir".
Today Hug offers classes in English, from English as a Second Language up to Advanced Placement levels, mathematics from Algebra I to Calculus AB, sciences such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Spanish, French, Industrial arts and physical education, as well as numerous elective courses.
