Blankenheim

Blankenheim, Saxony-Anhalt, a municipality in eastern Germany, part of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Allstedt-Kaltenborn.

Sangerhausen

Six months later, on 3 July 2005 Pölsfeld left for the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Allstedt-Kaltenborn.

On 1 December 2005 Riestedt followed, coming from the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Allstedt-Kaltenborn.


Allstedt

It is situated approximatively 10 km southeast of Sangerhausen.

Elisabeth of Nassau-Dillenburg, Countess of Wied

She married on 28 February 1526 in Königstein to Wolfgang, Count of Stolberg-Stolberg (1 October 1501 in Stolberg – 8 March 1552 in Allstedt).

Helme

From there the Helme – now in the state of Saxony-Anhalt – continues eastwards flowing through Roßla towards Allstedt, where it then swings south and enters Thuringia again.

On the Mall

Goldman composed "On the Mall" (possibly as early as 1922 but published the march) in 1923 to honor Elkan Naumburg, who had funded the related construction in that year as "On the Mall" premiered there on September 29 with Franz Kaltenborn as conductor and Naumburg in attendance.

South Harz Karst Landscape Biosphere Reserve

The biosphere reserve has an area of 30,034 hectares and lies in the county of Mansfeld-Südharz on the territory of the towns of Allstedt and Sangerhausen and the municipalities of Berga, Südharz and Wallhausen.
