During the Fascist "Ventennio", the same war-cry (modified as "eja eja alalà", where "eja" had the same meaning of war-cry, taken from Aeschylus and Plato) was adopted by the Arditi, a special corps of the Fascist Army.

Dubbed the X Reggimento "Arditi" ('10th Regiment' "The Bold"), they conducted patrols in Tunisia; and occupied Sicily, and Algeria under the orders of Duce.
Companies were formed around expert soldiers (called "Arditi Camionettisti"), operating on board of armored cars AB41 and light trucks FIAT and Lancia customized to operate in desertic contexts; heavily armed with heavy machine guns, light 47 mm and 65 mm guns, and AA 20 mm Breda 35 guns.
Arditi conducted opera throughout Italy and in 1846 found himself conducting as far afield as Havana, Cuba.
Although his work has primarily been in French film and theater, Arditi is known in the Anglophone world as the French voice of Christopher Reeve.
