Ariel Award

The name "Ariel" was inspired by a series of short writings called El Ariel by Uruguayan writer José Enrique Rodó that inspired generations of young Latin Americans in the first decades of the 20th century.

The statuette is in the image of a man and it was designed by the sculptor Ignacio Asúnsolo.

Charles L. Kimball

He was awarded the Mexican Ariel Award in 1951 for his editing work on In the Palm of Your Hand, and nominated for another the following year.

Margarita Isabel

Born as Margarita Isabel Morales y González, she is a multiple Ariel Award-winning actress.


Rosalío Solano

Rosalío Solano (August 30, 1914 – August 20, 2009) was a Mexican award-winning cinematographer of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, perhaps best known for his work in the film Talpa; which won him the Silver Ariel for Best Cinematography of 1957.
