Anwer Ali

After Muhammad Shah was attacked & deposed by Ahmad Shah Abdali in 1748 young Prince Anwer Ali then about 17 & half year old escaped to his grand Aunt Princess Jahanarra & hid in a place in Arrah, Bihar which was infested with bears.

Badar Ali

His son, Nazir Ali (1805 - 1890), worked as a Revenue Minister under Babu Kunwar Singh and Amar Singh Rathore in Arrah, Bihar.

Chandabai

The daughter of Narayandas Agrwal of Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, a prominent citizen and a proponent of Indian's independence, she was married at the age of 11 to Dharmakumar, the 18 year old grandson of the zamindar and scholar Prabhudas Jain of Arrah.

Christopher Webb Smith

From 1827 Smith had been based in Arrah, some 40 miles from Patna, and it is likely that he met Sir Charles D'Oyly there.
