Mughalsarai

The Malviya Bridge (Lord Duffrin Bridge Double Deck Rail cum Road, built in 1888), in Kashi (Varanasi) is situated between Mughalsarai and Varanasi on the river Ganges.

CBSE affiliated Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sunbeam School Mughalsarai and East Central Railway Inter College (the oldest school of the town—it exists from British Raj and most important thing about it is the second prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shashtri had studied in this prestigious college), Nagar Palika Inter College Mughalsarai (U.P. Board) are the prime schooling institutions.

Patliputra Junction

Patliputra is well connected with Arrah, Buxar and Mughalsarai through daily passenger and express train services.


Chittaranjan

The Chittaranjan railway station is in Howrah-Patna-Mughalsarai main line at a distance of 237 km from Howrah.

Mughalsarai–Kanpur section

The 1050 MW Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Plant, in this section, consumed 5,022,000 tonnes of coal in 2006-07, which was transported by the railways.

Mughalsarai Junction, Allahabad and Kanpur Central on the main line, and Varanasi Junction on a branch line are amongst the top hundred booking stations of Indian Railway.

Two places on these tracks are major pilgrimage centres – Allahabad on the main line and Varanasi, a little off the main line, on a branch line.
