1937 This project (Nizamia Mosque, later changed to present name) was funded by the Nizam of Hyderabad and the foundation stone of the mosque was laid on Friday, June 4, 1937, by HH Prince Azam Jah eldest son of Mir Osman Ali Khan the last ruler of Hyderabad State.

Azim Jah (died 1874) was the brother of Azam Jah, the eleventh Nawab of the Carnatic and uncle of Ghulam Muhammad Ghouse Khan, the twelfth and last Nawab of the Carnatic.
Ghouse Khan was born to the Azam Jah, the eleventh Nawab of the Carnatic in about 1824.
Azam Jah ascended the throne on the death of his father Azim-ud-Daula in 1819.
