During his education in high school, Karamarko played a guitar and performed in Students' Home, where other popular bands also held concerts, among which Azra, Film, Idoli and others.

In 2002, three of the "Big Four" international pageant winners come from dominant Muslim countries: Džejla Glavović, who won at Miss Earth, Christina Sawaya of Lebanon, who won Miss International 2002, and Azra Akın of Turkey, who won Miss World 2002.
Azra Sherwani worked with actors of all generations — from Qazi Wajid, Subhani Ba Yunus, Imtiaz Ahmed, Begum Khurshid Mirza, Qurban Jilani, Shakeel, Shafi Mohammad, Talat Iqbal, Anwar Maqsood, Akbar Subhan, Behroze Sabzwari, Shahnaz Sheikh, Marina Khan, Ishrat Hashmi, Jamshed Ansari, Babar Ali, Mazhar Ali, Mishi Khan, Atiqa Odho, Sania Saeed, Sajid Hasan and Sadia Imam.
Two years later they formed Haustor, together with Ozren Štiglić (guitar) and Boris Leiner (drums), who also played in another prominent Yugoslav rock band Azra.
Sevdalinkas were re-recorded by Josipa Lisac (she recorded the song "Omer beže"), Željko Bebek ("Da zna zora"), Ibrica Jusić, who recorded two albums of sevdalinkas: Amanet (2003), and Amanet 2 (2008), Jadranka Stojaković, Toše Proeski and Zdravko Čolić or taken as a basis for few songs by Johnny Štulić (his band Azra was named after a verse from a sevdalinka song).
