He was also an adjunct professor at the School of International Business, Queensland University of Technology and founding chairman of the Centre for Supply Chain Management.

Prior to joining the IIM, Sahay was the director of the Management Development Institute (2009–2010, Gurgaon) and the Institute of Management Technology (2005–2009, Ghaziabad).
