In the 19th Century, the spa was acquired by Pastor Johann Christoph Blumhardt who used it as a center for his ministry of healing and evangelism.
It had its inaugural meeting at Bad Boll, Germany, July 1998 among Protestant members of the International Association for Religious Freedom.
In 1955 and 1956 he worked at the Evangelische Akademie in Bad Boll, Germany.
