Sir Hugh's descendants by the second wife Isabel and son John became peers Baronets and Barons Wrottesley after several generations.
His descendant, Sir Walter Wrottesley (d. 1659), was created a baronet on 30 Aug. 1642, and the seventh baronet, Sir Richard Wrottesley (d. 1769), dean of Worcester, was grandfather of John, first baron Wrottesley.
On 11 July 1838 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Wrottesley, of Wrottesley in the County of Stafford.
