Battle of Shrewsbury

At least part of the fighting is believed to have taken place at what is now Battlefield in Shropshire, England, some three miles north of the centre of Shrewsbury.


All Saints Church, Bakewell

In the Vernon Chapel (off the South aisle) there are several magnificent tombs: Sir Thomas Wendesley (killed at the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403; John Vernon of Haddon Hall, who died in 1477; and Sir George Vernon and his two wives.

Baginton

Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland was imprisoned at Baginton castle following his son, Harry Hotspur's defeat at the Battle of Shrewsbury.

He was also starter at sports held to commemorate the marriage of the future George V in 1893, the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1903 and George V’s coronation in 1911.
