Educated by Jesuits at Beaumont College, he went on to study Modern History at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1920, during which time he became chairman of the Fisher Society at the chaplaincy.
Following his father's death in 1888, John and his brothers were sent to England by their Uncle and guardian William Alexander Long, where they attended St Augustine's Abbey school at Ramsgate, and Beaumont College.
Prince Michael Andreevich was educated at Beaumont College in Old Windsor, and lived with his parents and his grandmother Grand Duchess Xenia in exile at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle and later at Wilderness House until he was commissioned to serve in the Royal Navy during World War II.
He studied his secondary studies at the St. Clement’s College in Iloilo, Ateneo de Manila and Beaumont College in Berkshire, England.
