John Bede Dalley

Dalley was called to the bar in London in 1901 and practised at Sydney until 1907, when he joined the staff of The Bulletin after becoming deaf from a fall off a horse.

Following his father's death in 1888, John and his brothers were sent to England by their Uncle and guardian William Alexander Long, where they attended St Augustine's Abbey school at Ramsgate, and Beaumont College.
