Reports that Beijing Guoan would field a second-string side as they rest their best players for a China Super League match against Chongqing Lifan on 2 August, while the latter refused to change the schedule also hampered sales.
Cheng Yuelei transferred for 800,000 Yuan to Beijing Guoan and saw himself fight for the second choice goalkeeping position with Zhang Sipeng throughout much of the 2008 Chinese Super League campaign.
