Owing to its Europe-wide conservation status, this plant has been included in the Bern Convention, and subsequently listed in Annex II of the EU Flora–Fauna Directive—Natura 2000.
The species is endangered and it is protected by law in Slovakia and also by European law and Berne Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats.
There is an international law to protect this species and it is under the EU Habitats and Species Directive (Annex IV) and the Berne Convention (Appendix III).
