Bhale Ramudu

It is based on the highly successful Hindi film of Bombay Talkies by Gyan Mukherjee entitled Kismet (1943) starring Ashok Kumar and Mumtaz Shanti.

Bombay Talkies

Devika Rani, who became one of Bombay Talkies' most successful actresses, and India's first film diva, appeared in Jawani ki Hawa (1935) and Jeevan Naiya (1936), as well as a number of other highly successful productions by the company.

Like many of his contemporaries at Bombay Talkies, Raj was awarded the Padma Bhushan award in 1971 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1987 for his outstanding contributions to Indian cinematic culture.

In recognition of her contribution to Indian cinema, Devika Rani was awarded the highly respected Padma Shri award in 1958.

Nitin Bose

Satyajit Ray was a nephew of Bose and worked under him in the movie Mashaal(1950), which was produced by Bombay Talkies.

Bose's first movie under Bombay Talkies banner was Naukadubi (1947), based on Tagore's novel of the same name.


Gyan Mukherjee

After death of Himanshu Rai, founder of from Bombay Talkies Studio in 1940, a group led by producer Sashadhar Mukherjee along woth with production controller Rai Bahadur Chunilal, actor Ashok Kumar and Mukherjee, broke away to establish the Filmistan studio in March 1943 at the premises of old Sharada Movietone studios in Goregaon, Mumbai.
