Flame Trees is a song by Australian pub rock band Cold Chisel from their 1984 album Twentieth Century.

It is one of their best known songs, and was written by drummer Steve Prestwich and organist Don Walker.

Steve Prestwich

Fellow band member, Jimmy Barnes, later planted a flame tree in Prestwich's memory at the National Arboretum Canberra.

The larvae have been recorded feeding on buds and young shoots of a wide range of plants, including Flagellaria, Macadamia integrifolia, Castanospermum australe, Erythrina, Callerya megasperma, Wisteria, Cassia fistula, Alectryon coriaceus, Brachychiton acerifolius and Cupaniopsis.
