Ironically, this investigation was carried out by a Queenslander, former Sydney Roosters CEO Brian Canavan.
In 2010 Canavan was appointed to investigate the on-and-off field performances, attitude, behaviour, conduct and setup of the New South Wales State of Origin team following its fifth straight series loss to Queensland.
This was approved by Roosters boss Brian Canavan, but Roosters coach Stuart did not know that Hodges wanted a release from the club.
