Au rendez-vous de la mort joyeuse is a 1973 horror film directed by Juan Luis Buñuel (the son of Luis Buñuel).
As a teenager he traveled to Paris in 1922 to study agronomy, but promptly and against his family's, became part of the art world and the historical avant-garde film that dominated the European scene and Paris, mingling with: Picasso, Modigliani, ManRay, Gertrude Stein, Coco Chanel, Buñuel, Lee Miller, the Viscount de Noailles, among others, formed the social circle that unfolded for ten years and where he developed his prodigious acting career.
Over the next several years, Dilián starred in a number of important films with such major stars as Arturo de Córdova and Pedro Infante, and played the leading female role in Luis Buñuel's Abismos de pasión (1954).
This was Buñuel's payback for Chiappe's role in banning the Buñuel-Dalí film L'Age d'Or (1930), when Chiappe was Prefect of Police for Paris.
Influenced at his beginnings by Buñuel, Cocteau, the surrealists and by the Japanese cinema (Seijun Suzuki, Ishirō Honda, Kōji Wakamatsu, Yoko Ono), stunned by the Festival of the film expérimental of Knokke in 1967 and by May 1968, Roland Lethem wants to push the people to look at the things of which they say they are freed, it's to say to place them in front of their responsibilities.
Silberman produced all of Buñuel's late films, including the Academy Award winner The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie in 1972 and the director's very last film That Obscure Object of Desire in 1977.

The pair, along with screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière, who Silberman introduced to Buñuel, worked together on a number of films, starting with the 1964 film Diary of a Chambermaid.
Other films include Un Chien Andalou and L'Age d'Or by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí; Buñuel went on to direct many more films, with varying degrees of Surrealist influence.
