4 unusual facts about Bundesstraße 6

Bundesstraße 6

The former Reichsstraße 6 ran from Görlitz via Hirschberg and Schweidnitz to Breslau and from there via Oelsas far as the old Polish border near Groß Wartenberg.

Between Leipzig and Görlitz the B6 largely follows the historic course of the Via Regia (apart from the ring roads around Meißen, Dresden and Bischofswerda).

The rest of the route to Bremen, with the exception of a short section in Bremerhaven, was downgraded to Landesstraße 135.

Petersberg, Halle

A stretch of the A 14 motorway runs past the Petersberg to the west and south, and the B 6 federal highway runs by to the southwest.

Bremen Switzerland

The region of the Bremer Schweiz is framed by the Weser tributary of Lesum to the south, the Weser to the west, the marsh region of Osterstade to the northwest, the forest of Düngel to the north (Garlstedt-Meyenburg line), the former B 6 federal road to Bremerhaven (now the L135) to the east and the adjoining heath of Langen Heide.
