Abercromby was born in Clackmannanshire on 15 October 1745, the fourth and youngest son of George Abercromby of Tullibody (1705-1800) and Mary Dundas.
The station was to the west of the level crossing on the road into the village, and had a large signal box, which controlled two level crossings, the junction with the line to Menstrie and Alva, and access to sidings in the brewery and distillery.

John Chroston of Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, a biology teacher at Falkirk High School, Scotland, was one of the few tourists present during the Indian Ocean earthquake able to recognise tsunami warning signs and prompt a beach evacuation.
Brodie grew up in Alloa, Clackmannanshire and was educated at Dollar Academy in Clackmannanshire, and studied the School of Law of the University of Edinburgh (LL.B.) and the School of Law of the University of Virginia in the United States (LL.M.).
These were originally allocated to the Cambus, Manchester and Oxfordshire subsidiaries - although they've since been transferred to other subsidiaries within Stagecoach.
