The 2010–11 Australian Baseball League season will be the inaugural season of the re-launched Australian Baseball League, contested between six teams representing the mainland national and state capitals: Adelaide Bite, Brisbane Bandits, Canberra Cavalry, Melbourne Aces, Perth Heat and Sydney Blue Sox.
The Perth Heat were the first team to clinch a postseason position when they defeated the Brisbane Bandits in Perth on 8 January, and then clinched a first place finish in their next game when they defeated the Canberra Cavalry in Canberra on 12 January.
It was announced on 21 December 2012 that should the Canberra Cavalry and Sydney Blue Sox be scheduled to play each other in the preliminary final series, instead of the higher placed team hosting the full series, the teams would share the hosting responsibilities.

The team that finished first—the Canberra Cavalry—earned a direct entry into the ABL championship series and the right to host the series.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the Canberra Cavalry, the Sydney Blue Sox and the Perth Heat progressed to the postseason.
The Canberra Cavalry team mascot is a Yosemite Sam-type character named 'Sarge', with an Australian slouch hat, Cavalry-orange shirt, Auscam pants and brown Army boots.

He debuted for the Bandits on November 4 against the Canberra Cavalry throwing a scoreless inning in relief.
