The Woman's Building was designed by Candace Wheeler, a member of the Cooper Union Advisory Council when Morse enrolled.
Wheeler is also noted for designing the interior of the Women's Building at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, IL.

The Board of Women's Managers was led by the Chicago art collector Bertha Palmer, who worked closely with the curator Sarah Tyson Hallowell on the art for the women's building.
