3 unusual facts about Carmine Giordani

Carmine Giordani

It was long mistakenly thought that Carmine Giordani was father of Tommaso Giordani, who died in Dublin, and Giuseppe Giordani (1743–98), called "Giordanello," but this turns out not to be the case; their father was Giuseppe Giordani, an opera buffa singer.

Nicola Fago

Between 1704 and 1708 he worked at the Conservatorio Sant'Onofrio, but from 1705 to 1740 he was based at the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini, where his pupils included Leonardo Leo, Francesco Feo, Giuseppe de Majo, Niccolo Jommelli, Nicola Sala, Michele de Falco, Carmine Giordani as well as his own son Lorenzo Fago.

Tommaso Giordani

His father was Giuseppe Giordani senior who was born around 1695 in Naples, died after 1762, probably in London (no relation to the Neopolitan organist Carmine Giordani b. 1685).
