3 unusual facts about Tommaso Giordani

Carmine Giordani

It was long mistakenly thought that Carmine Giordani was father of Tommaso Giordani, who died in Dublin, and Giuseppe Giordani (1743–98), called "Giordanello," but this turns out not to be the case; their father was Giuseppe Giordani, an opera buffa singer.

Tommaso Giordani

His last opera, The Cottage, Festival, was produced at the Theatre Royal, Dublin, 28 Nov., 1796.

His father was Giuseppe Giordani senior who was born around 1695 in Naples, died after 1762, probably in London (no relation to the Neopolitan organist Carmine Giordani b. 1685).
