Cecil F. Poole (1914–1997), American lawyer and federal judge
After clerking for Cecil F. Poole at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, he pursued a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley, graduating in 1996.

In addition to Sanders, three Johnson nominees to district judgeships were not voted on by the United States Senate before Johnson's presidency ended: David Bress to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia; Cecil F. Poole to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California; and William Byrne to the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Dr. Poole also did a post-doctoral study in international finance at the London School of Economics.
When the library opened, the collection consisted of 9,000 books selected by bibliographer William F. Poole.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1896 to the Fifty-fifth Congress.
