It has also been supposed that the island was in fact named by Biscoe himself for Queen Adelaide of the United Kingdom.
Biscoe has worked with several notable jazz musicians, such as Harry Beckett, Ken Hyder, Didier Levallet, Chris McGregor, Andy Sheppard, Graham Collier, and Danilo Terenzi.
During the early 1990s, Biscoe was parodied by Adelaide comedian Glynn Nicholas who played Paté Biscuit on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation television comedy show, The Big Gig.

Biscoe was born in Shimla, India, to a British army officer and civil servant.
Surmising again that he had encountered a continent, Biscoe named the area Graham Land, after First Lord of the Admiralty Sir James Graham.
The house was built in 1900 by Warren, Smith & Biscoe and was the home of Harvard University chemist and 1914 Nobel Prize winner, Theodore William Richards.
