Charles Andrew Beckett (born 7 February 1794 in Gravesend, Kent; died 1838 in Chard, Somerset) was an English first-class cricketer associated with Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) who was active in the 1810s.
He has a son named Damien (who played for his father at Richmond, and was portrayed by Robert Ri'chard in the movie) and currently resides in Northern California.
The company was later brought back to life as N.B. Yachts and the company moved its production facility from Bridport in Dorset UK to Chard in the county of Somerset UK.
In the sitcom Meet the Browns, he portrayed Derek Porter, a buffoonish frat student who lived next door to Brown Meadows.
The Chafe family had originated at "Chafecombe" (modern Chaffcombe) 2 miles north-east of Chard in Somerset.

In 1966–67 they 'came of age' reaching the final of the Somerset FA Senior Cup, losing 3–1 to Chard Town.
The parish is part of the benefice of Chard, St. Mary with Combe St Nicholas, Wambrook and Whitestaunton within the deanery of Crewkerne and Ilminster.
He was Priest-in-charge of Chard Furnham with Chaffcombe, Knowle St Giles and Cricket Malherbie from 1995 to 1999; and of St Bartholomew, Tardebigge from 2000 to 2004.
