Charles Hallé

At the Musical Union founded by John Ella, and at the Popular Concerts from their beginning, Hallé was a frequent performer.

He died at Manchester on 25 October 1895, and was buried in Weaste Cemetery, Salford.

Venue Cymru

He established his own 42 piece orchestra at the 1,015 seat Victoria Palace, which attracted eminent visiting soloists including Sir Charles and Lady Hallé who in 1895 gave a piano and violin recital with the orchestra.

Winnington Hall

For some years the hall was used as a girls' finishing school under Miss Margaret Alexis Bell and Miss Mary Jane Bell, where Sir Charles Hallé visited to give recitals and John Ruskin gave lectures.

St Wilfrid's Church, Mobberley

According to the church's website, the organ was moved from Manchester's Free Trade Hall and had been the property of Sir Charles Hallé.
